Biologist - Entry-level job - Due to the seasonal nature of our business, we seek someone with a biology background to work all year, full-time, in a combination of functions.  Person will start in-house to learn to handle customer calls, requests, purchases, product formulation, etc.    Long term, the individual will learn marketing.   There should be much time, though, for other activities  too. When not handling sales, etc., the individual will work on research projects involving developing biocontrols.  Our research is experimental biology, contrasted with, observational biology.   Much of the work requires microbiology using sterile technique.   In addition to a base pay, generous commissions will be paid.   Qualifications:       degree in a biological science with good communications skills. An innovative, adventurous spirit is very important too. We want someone genuinely interested in working in experimental biology, which is why we ask for the degree.  We are much more interested in talent, than in technical training.  Biologist - mechanical- We want someone with both biological and mechanical talents. We want them to help us design, build, and/or commission mechanical devices and their electrical controls used with biological organisms and processes. This will be hands-on biology needing biological, mechanical, and some electrical skills. This work will be research and development. To provide permanent full-time employment the individual will also be involved in other aspects of our business after training. The individual should have studied microbiology and have mechanical experience. This job will allow a new graduate a chance to experience innovative original research. Technical Sales Associate

Entry level - The successful applicant will begin a six-month training program, probationary period, to learn our products and to assist customers and sales reps on the phone. After some basic training the individual will begin answering the phone. On the phone the individual will assist customers to select an appropriate product and then, if possible, complete the sale. In other circumstances if the customer is having difficulty using the product, the individual will try to help with basic troubleshooting over the phone. After sales are made, the individual will expedite the preparation of the shipment and invoicing. In other cases the individual will enter customer information into our database and see that appropriate literature is mailed. Follow up phone calls may also be appropriate. The goal of the above tasks is to learn customers' needs, desires, and concerns, as well as all aspects of our products.

 Longer term, the individual will become involved in marketing strategy. The goal will be to increase sales of BioLogic products, especially under our own labels. The individual will not just be selling and order filling. This strategy will likely use independent sales reps. The individual will be involved in the selection, recruitment, and management of reps as their in house liaison.

Specifically the individual will use technical knowledge and communication talent to:

1.     Possibly attend certain (5-6/yr.) regional trade shows to prospect for bisiness customers and reps.

2.      2. Assist in training sales representatives.

3.      3. Design marketing materials to better support representatives, dealers and distributors

4.      4. Proactively phone selected customers to obtain sales.

5.       Other varied tasks may be assigned as circumstances warrant.

Qualifications: Intelligence, good communications skills, a desire to help people, and an interest in biology, including biological control of pests. The individual should be oriented towards our goal to greatly increase market penetration and sales of existing and new products to those who will benefit from them. In, addition to a base pay, commissions will be paid based upon increased sales and performance by the reps.
